Main directions:
RPC Magnetic Hydrodynamics Ltd. engineers have created parameter-oriented model for holding and melting furnaces of the capacities from 50 kg up to 200 tons for automatic designing of new equipment. Research work relating to equipment materials consumption reduction and its efficiency increase is being made.
Russian first tilting electric holding furnace was designed by RPC Magnetic hydrodynamics Ltd. and commissioned in Bratsk Aluminium Smelter in 2004.
The success of this project provided RPC Magnetic hydrodynamics Ltd. with the order for the design and supply of 4 (four) tilting electric holding furnaces with the capacity of 38 tons each equipped with MHD-stirrers for Novokuznetsk Aluminium Smelter.
Upon an initiative of UC RUSAL in 2004 RPC Magnetic hydrodynamics Ltd. signed the license agreement with the English company, Mechatherm International Ltd., for mutual supply of melting and holding furnaces to Smelters in Russia and CIS countries under Mechaterm-RPC MHD trademark.
Worldwide engineering experience of Mechatherm International Ltd. and RPC Magnetic hydrodynamics Ltd. experience in the arranging of the equipment steelworks manufacturing in Krasnoyarsk city made it possible for the alliance to implement lots of various large projects at the biggest metallurgical enterprises of Russia and CIS. As of today more than 38 holding and melting furnaces of different capacities (from 50 kg up to 100 tons) have been supplied and commissioned at such Smelters as Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter, Irkutsk Aluminium Smelter, Khakassia Aluminium Smelter, Sayanogorsk Aluminium Smelter, Pavlodar Aluminium Smelter, Boguchanhy Aluminium Smelter, Taishet Aluminium Smelter, Volgograd Aluminium Smelter and others.
Stationary and tilting electrically heated resistance furnaces are designed for preparation of aluminium alloys, their temperature hold, averaging of chemical composition and cast of aluminium-based alloys into casting machines or into casting conveyors.
Gas fired melting furnaces of different capacities and performance are used for melting aluminium scrap.
RPC Magnetic hydrodynamics Ltd. engineers have gained significant experience in design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of furnaces at Russian smelters.
